Fine Dining at Fancy Crab

Fine Dining at Fancy Crab

Another weekend, another restaurant. This time we tried Fancy Crab, a seafood restaurant in Marylebone.

Through the entrance cloaked in heavy red curtains, is a cosy dining set up with additional seating and bar in the floor below. Also, seeing that Christmas is swiftly approaching, a huge decorated Christmas tree was featured in the middle of the restaurant.

Looked at the menu - Oh so we are being fancy, fancy… - and after a suggestion from the couple next to us we tried the following dishes:

STARTERS

We decided to break our oyster virginity at Fancy Crab but I’m not sure if that was a good idea. Let’s just say…one of us ate two with a grimace and the other one spat it out. LOL

Conclusion: It might be better without the sauce which was too tangy. There are two other types of oysters to try on the menu as well.

Above, the king crabs are kept on ice and the preparation process is visible to the entire restaurant.

MAINS

Meal one

King Leg Gratin with Bechamel Sauce and Skinny Fries. The portions are quite small but filling and this was super delicious.

King Crab Leg Gratin - Sweet Delicate Crab Meat with Bechamel Sauce and Cheese Crust

Meal Two

Red King Crab Pappardelle. This meal was also very yummy but again the portion was quite small so truffle fries were ordered on the side.

DESERT

We didn’t order desert because London | SAID dal 1923 was our next stop.

It’s amazing how many creatively unique dishes that could be made out of king crab. Fancy Crab is definitely worth a visit at least once, and as it is close to Oxford Street maybe pop in for lunch or dinner after doing some shopping.
